Differences (a beginning)

Das Wichtigste (für uns zumindest) gleich zu Beginn: es sieht gut aus, dass wir eine tolle Wohnung auf 1. Dezember beziehen können. Das freut uns natürlich sehr.

Es ist Zeit, dass ich ein damit anfange, das zu notieren, was hier anders ist. 

Die Apotheke:
Es gibt natürlich unterschiedliche Apotheken, auch solche, bei denen man in den Raum hineingeht. Ich habe aber letzthin bei einer eingekauft, die eigentlich wie ein Zimmer mit einer Theke vorne dran ist. Man geht also gar nicht in die Apotheke, sondern sagt vom Gehsteig aus, was man haben möchte. Was ich genial finde ist, dass man genau so viel Medikamente kaufen kann, wie man möchte / braucht. Ich hatte eine Erkältung und habe dem Apotheker erklärt, dass ich etwas brauche, das bei uns Solmucol heisst. Er hat sofort gewusst, was ich meine und hat mir 6 Tabletten mitgegeben; für 3 Tage, jeweils morgens und abends. Auch Aspirin kann man einzeln nehmen. Das ist etwas, was mich in der Schweiz immer ärgert: ich kaufe eine Packung eines Medikaments und muss meistens mehr als die Hälfte irgendwann entsorgen, weil das Ablaufdatum längst vorüber ist.

Die Wäsche:
Wir haben hier eine Waschmaschine auf dem Balkon. Das ist normal, es wird ja nie richtig kalt. Bei dieser Maschine kann ich die Menge Wasser bestimmen; mehr nicht. Das heisst, sie wäscht immer mit derselben Temperatur, schleudert immer gleich (kräftig, übrigens), usw.. Bei der Wassertemperatur habe ich beim dritten Mal waschen gemerkt, dass sie gar nicht heizt. Wir waschen also immer mit kaltem, bzw. lauwarmen Wasser; einfach mit der Temperatur, die aus dem Wasserhahn kommt. Jetzt habe ich einen Fleckenspray gekauft 😂.

​Um die Wäsche aufzuhängen, gibt es wiederum ein super System. Stangen, die an Kordeln befestigt sind. Die Kordeln haben Knoten, so dass man die Stangen auf verschiedene Höhen befestigen kann. Da die Räume recht hoch sind - und der Balkon auch - kann man die Wäsche also auf die Stangen hängen und diese dann einfach hochziehen. So kann man bequem noch unten durchlaufen. Die Wäsche braucht ungefähr fünf Stunden bis sie trocken ist. 
Auf jeden Fall brauchen wir hier für die Wäsche recht wenig Energie 👍 und ich hatte bisher trotz lauwarmem Wasser immer das Gefühl, dass sie nach dem Waschen frisch ist.

The most important thing (for us at least) right at the beginning: it looks good that we will be able to move into a great flat on 1 December. Of course we are very happy about that.

It's time for me to start noting what's different here. 

The pharmacy:
There are of course different pharmacies, including ones where you walk into the room. However, I recently shopped at one that is actually like a room with a counter at the front. So you don't go into the pharmacy at all, but say what you want from the pavement. What I find brilliant is that you can buy as much medication as you want/need. I had a cold and explained to the pharmacist that I needed something called Solmucol. He immediately knew what I meant and gave me 6 tablets to take for 3 days, morning and evening. Aspirin can also be taken individually. That's something that always annoys me in Switzerland: I buy a pack of a medicine and usually have to dispose of more than half of it at some point because the expiry date has long since passed.

The laundry:
We have a washing machine on the balcony. That's normal, as it never gets really cold. With this machine, I can determine the amount of water; nothing more. This means that it always washes at the same temperature, always spins the same way (vigorously, by the way), etc.. When it comes to the water temperature, I realised after the third wash that it wasn't heating at all. So we always wash with cold or lukewarm water; simply at the temperature that comes out of the tap. I have now bought a stain spray 😂.

For hanging up the washing, there is a great system: rods that are attached to cords. The cords have knots so that you can attach the rods at different heights. As the rooms are quite high - and so is the balcony - you can hang the washing on the rods and then simply pull them up. This makes it easy to walk through below. At the moment, the washing takes about five hours to dry. 
In any case, we need very little energy to do the laundry here 👍 and I've always had the feeling that it's fresh after washing, despite the lukewarm water.

Le plus important (pour nous du moins) au début : il semble que nous puissions emménager dans un super appartement le 1er décembre. Cela nous fait évidemment très plaisir.

Il est temps que je commence à noter ce qui est différent ici. 

La pharmacie :
Il y a bien sûr différentes pharmacies, y compris celles où l'on entre. Cependant, dernièrement j'ai fait mes achats dans une pharmacie qui est en fait une chambre avec un comptoir devant. On n'entre donc pas du tout dans la pharmacie, mais on dit depuis le trottoir ce que l'on veut. Ce que je trouve génial, c'est que l'on peut acheter autant de médicaments que l'on veut / dont on a besoin. J'ai eu un rhume et j'ai expliqué au pharmacien que j'avais besoin de quelque chose qui s'appelle Solmucol chez nous. Il a tout de suite compris ce que je voulais et m'a donné 6 comprimés pour 3 jours, matin et soir. On peut aussi prendre de l'aspirine à l'unité. C'est quelque chose qui m'énerve en Suisse : j'achète un paquet de médicament et je dois généralement en jeter plus de la moitié parce que la date de péremption est passée depuis longtemps. 

La lessive :
Nous avons ici une machine à laver sur le balcon. C'est normal, il ne fait jamais vraiment froid. Avec cette machine, je peux déterminer la quantité d'eau ; rien de plus. Cela signifie qu'elle lave toujours à la même température, qu'elle essore toujours de la même manière (vigoureusement, d'ailleurs), etc. En ce qui concerne la température de l'eau, j'ai remarqué à la troisième lessive qu'elle ne chauffe pas du tout. Nous lavons donc toujours à l'eau froide ou tiède ; simplement à la température qui sort du robinet. Du coup, j'ai acheté un spray détachant 😂.

Pour suspendre le linge, il existe un super système : des barres fixées à des cordons. Les cordes ont des nœuds, ce qui permet de fixer les barres à différentes hauteurs. Comme les pièces sont assez hautes - et le balcon aussi - on peut suspendre le linge sur les barres et les remonter. On peut ainsi passer facilement par dessous. Le linge met environ cinq heures à sécher. 
En tout cas, nous utilisons ici assez peu d'énergie pour la lessive 👍 et jusqu'à présent, j'ai toujours eu l'impression qu'elle était fraîche après le lavage, malgré l'eau tiède.
